Police Officer Charles L. Harrison
Officer Charles Harrison was killed in a motorcycle accident.
Officer Harrison was on his police motorcycle traveling on I-240 when observed a traffic jam ahead. Upon closer inspection, he observed a patrol car and a motorcycle officer pulled to the side of the road. The officers had an intoxicated man stopped. As Officer Harrison made his way through the traffic the vehicle in front of him jammed on its breaks causing Officer Harrison to strike the car. When he hit the car Officer Harrison and his motorcycle were thrown into the air. Officer Harrison fell to the ground and his motorcycle landed on top of him.
A passing doctor stopped to help Officer Harrison and soon several doctors and nurses were helping to stabilize his condition. Officer Harrison was removed to Baptist Hospital where he died from his injuries.
