On December 15, 2020, the final hurdle to achieve all of the goals of the Public Safety campaign was overcome.

The Memphis City Council passed the pension ordinance amendment necessary to restore the pension plan to officers and firefighters who had a pension and lost it. So, on January 1, 2021 all of the benefits that the MPA & MFFA set out to get back will be restored or in process to be restored.
