Memphis Police officer LaTica Bennett greets runners and walkers over her patrol car’s speakers every morning at David Carnes Park in Whitehaven. It took her a while to get up the nerve to greet parkgoers amid the recent tension nationwide between police and the community. “I was kinda nervous about it.
